Design & Technology
Design and Technology is taught to design and make, within a variety of contexts, products which solve real and relevant problems. We use Projects on a Page to support the planning and resourcing of quality teaching and learning.
Children are encouraged to learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful and innovative when generating, developing and modelling. They are taught how to select the appropriate tools and equipment for a specific task.
Cooking and nutrition are a part of the Design and Technology curriculum and children are taught how to cook and apply principles of nutrition and healthy eating.
In the Early Years Foundation Stage children explore constructing with a purpose in mind. They develop safely using and exploring a variety of materials, tools and techniques, experimenting with design and function.
