Home Learning Plan 06.01.20

Hello Red Class,

Thank you parents and children for your hard work this term! You have all made me very proud. It is Half Term this week so we will not be setting a new story. We will be back with more Home Learning on June 1st. Your Half Term homework is to play, play, play!

If you would like to listen to new stories and songs on our Early Year's Story and Song page, then please do! You could also use this time to go over the phonics sounds and tricky words we have learnt and catch up with any missed sessions. We hope you enjoy spending this time together as a family!

Stay safe and take care,

Miss Conwell smiley

Hello Red Class,

We just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work over the last few weeks helping your children with their home learning. It has not been an easy time for anyone and we understand there have been a lot of added pressures. It has been lovely to see different photos and videos of the children at home. If you still have observations from last week, take your time and add them over the next two weeks.

Our homework for the holidays (the next two weeks) is to play, play, play. The children and yourselves need a break and their well being is the most important thing to us. This may be playing lego with them, drawing pictures with them, reading books and playing with toys, singing and dancing!  It is all so important for their development.

I will still be checking Tapestry so please add anything you have been doing and I will always respond. I will also be adding some of our favourite story books over the holidays for the children to listen to.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch either through Tapestry or my email red@brettenham.enfield.sch.uk if you need anything.

Have a lovely two weeks break and we look forward to starting our next story on Monday 20th April.

I am missing you all so much,

Keep smiling,

From Miss Conwell smiley

Please practise these letters with your child, if you could focus on lower case letters rather than capital letters that would be great! Thanks for your support!

Dear Parents/Carers,

We would like to thank you for your support over the last couple of weeks. It's been a difficult time for all of us and we appreciate how daunting this might feel for you and your children. We want to let you know that we are here for any support you might need.

We will be updating you regularly with a weekly Home Learning Plan. We will also be posting videos onto Tapestry of our new phonics sounds and our Story of the Week. We hope to see as many posts as possible on Tapestry of the Reading/Writing task and Number task weekly.

We understand that children may feel anxious during this period and we feel it is very important for the children to feel connected to school and their teachers. Please reassure them that they can contact us whenever you like and we will always respond to them.

You can contact me through Tapestry or my email red@brettenham.enfield.sch.uk. If you cannot get onto Tapestry please email me.

We will support you and your families through this,

Miss Conwell

        Christmas in Red Class!

Red Class Christmas Party!

When we came back into the classroom after lunch, there was a note on my desk saying “Miss Conwell told me you have been as good as can be... now look for our treats on the Christmas tree”. They then looked for our Christmas tree and noticed that all the decorations had been replaced by golden coins. Each child then searched the tree to find the chocolate coin with their name on. They were so excited and it was lovely to see.

The children made their own Christmas cards ⛄️ They each carefully painted their snowmen and then wrote their messages inside. What lovely card making Red Class!

We have loved decorating our own Christmas tree! The children have even been busy making their own decorations for our tree.

The children really enjoyed eating their special Christmas dinner. They especially liked eating their snowman ice creams. ⛄️

The children enjoy sharing their news from home. Lots of children have sent photos of their Christmas celebrations from home to share with the class!

         Our Topic is 'Transport'.

Our core book is 'Whatever Next'.

The children sat in the spaceship and decided what they would pack with them for their trip to the moon.

David and Michelle made a wonderful rocket. They then put a teddy in the rocket and pretended he went to space as they listened to the story.

We have some amazing inventors in Red Class! Look at the wonderful rockets we have been making!

Our core book is 'The Naughty Bus'.

The children has a wonderful time on the bus trip. They got to meet the bus driver and enjoyed their own private bus trip all the way to Enfield bus garage. We then met the bus mechanics and enjoyed looking at the special tools they use to fix the buses. After this, we went onto a double decker bus and got to go through the bus wash which the children found very exciting. What a wonderful adventure for the children.

Nursery Rhyme Day

Still image for this video

We had an amazing workshop where we all performed 'Wheels on the bus' and other nursery rhymes together. We created a giant orchestra where every child was playing an instrument.

The children have been busy drawing, painting and making their own buses.

We discovered today that the our Naughty Bus went on an overnight adventure. The caretaker asked us to look at the cameras and we saw that he had gone into our playground. The children were very excited to make posters and tell everyone about the naughty bus. I wonder if he’ll go on another adventure soon.

Someone left a present on Miss Conwell’s desk with a note saying ‘For Red Class’. We passed it around the circle and guessed what it might be. We then opened it up and it revealed a Naughty Bus just for us.

We have been practicing our counting in Red Class. The children enjoyed putting different numbers of bears onto the bus. Great counting children!

The Naughty Bus went on lots of adventures in the story. He went through baked beans and toothpaste. The children loved their Naughty Bus Messy play!

Come and take a ride on the Red Class Bus!

We have been busy making our own Naughty Buses.
