Purple Class - Year Two

Welcome to Purple Class, Year 2!

                                Summer Term

Night Stalkers and The Seaside

 

During the Summer term we will be learning about animals that lurk in the dark and the seaside. You can support your child's learning by taking books out at the local library, visiting the London Zoo or Science Museum and completing homework tasks.

 

 

SMSC

Ultimate Question – Why is there so much suffering?

In purple class we will be learning about Islam, Sikhism and Judaism. We will be focusing on how people use religion to get through challenging times in their life and how it can help those in need.  

 

                                                             

 

SATS

The SATs tests will take place at the end of May. Please continue to read with your child every night and ensure all homework tasks are completed. Please feel free to see me if you have any questions or concerns!

Homework will continue to be available on Purple Mash.

Spring Term 

 

Topic

Victorians

During the Spring term we will be learning about what life was like during Victorian times. You can support your child's learning by taking books out at the local library, visiting historical landmarks and completing homework tasks.

Ultimate Question - How do I know what is right?

We will be learning about Islam, Sikhism and Judaism. We will be focusing on how people use religion to make decisions through the use of religious stories and giving children the opportunity to discuss their personal beliefs and values. 

 

SATS

The SATs tests will be sat at the end of May. Thankyou to all of those that purchased the booklets to help support your child at home. There is a document attached at the bottom of the page that will help you understand the many ways you can help support your child's preparation at home. Please ask me if there are any concerns or issues.

 

 

Homework

As you are all aware, weekly homework is now on Purple Mash. Please ensure your child completes their weekly tasks and saves their work accordingly.

A Parent’s Guide to Supporting Children’s Spelling
