CONFIRMATION OF SAFEGUARDING CHECKS ON STAFF/WORKERS: 

Brettenham Primary School ensures that all relevant pre-employment checks are carried out on employees and workers engaged directly.  All staff are required to sign an annual declaration to confirm that there has been no change to their criminal record and that they are not disqualified under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations.

PROTOCOL FOR VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL: 

We welcome all visitors to the school. You are asked to read and abide by the following protocol at all times during your visit. This is protect both you and the children and to ensure that your visit to the school runs as smoothly as possible. We ask that you:

Remember:

  • sign in and out and collect a visitor’s badge
  • be a positive role model
  • dress appropriately ensuring your clothing is not likely to be viewed as offensive  or   revealing
  • treat all members of the school community with respect and tolerance
  • respect children’s privacy and dignity
  • ensure you are visible by a member of staff if you are with children
  • always be able to justify any physical contact you have with a young person
  • always report any situations that arise that may cause concern
  • keep confidentiality

 

Never:

 

  • photograph a child without the school’s permission
  • never use you mobile phone in areas used by children
  • ignore inappropriate behaviours towards children whether by adults or other children
  • share personal details with a child
  • meet a child out of school context
  • discuss the school, its pupils or staff· on social media
  • make inappropriate comments about children or adults
  • give gifts to a child (unless it has been agreed) or show preferential treatment

 

Phasels Wood Update: All children at slept well last night and were up bright and early! they have had breakfast and are looking forward to a full day of activities.
